Mollie Stones: That's a cheese display !
I just discovered Mollie Stones few blocks away from the appartment: The most expensive retailer in the city : we just went for a look, and I must say that ..OK .. the prices are outrageous, but the cheese display is absolutely gorgeous. They even had special price on the Morgon wine. Unfortunately the Pommard and the Gigondas were full prices...

The design Hotel year book 2007
Designing a hotel ... This is probably the dream of any designer. This book, that I found in the hotel room was showing all the weirdest places in the world. Some really nice, some really strange. Surely the one in Madrid was one of the weirdest. I met by chance the designer of the Hotel in Athens: Karim Rashid. He was in the room next to mine. We chatted a bit. He was actually just back from Madrid where he spent 4 nights in the American hotel: He judgment is merciless: bad design ! not practical at all, difficult to understand how to use the appliances. I must say I had to agree. It took me 15 minutes to figure out how the shower was working and I did not manage during the whole week to take a shower without splashing the whole bathroom. That hotel was surely not in line with Karim's idea of design : "Design is about the betterment of our lives poetically, aesthetically, experientially, sensorially, and emotionally". Anyhow the America hotel was not in the book : Maybe a sign ...
Hotel design !
Forget boring rooms: athene is competing with Madrid. It seems that design hotel are going nuts. In this one, the semiramis, rooms have no numbers. Just symbols. Hard to say: Can u connect me with room § ?
Modern greece
Just as i imagined. Retired men taking coffees all afternoon. In super design places. This is modern greece. I had great chat with roberto who picked me at the airport: a 30 minutes full intro to the country: politics, geography, social, europe, football (he was in the finals and shown me the video on his phone, moto... hic), weather, albany,... I love this place already.
